Esports & Gaming Lead

Red Bull Racing are seeking an Esports and Gaming Lead to build vibrant gaming communities, forge impactful brand partnerships, and drive the evolution of our virtual presence in the world of competitive racing.

Purpose:

The Esports & Gaming Lead will head up the planning and delivery of Red Bull Racing’s Sim Racing and Esports strategy across multiple platforms. As part of the Fan Engagement department, this role exists to drive deeper, more meaningful connections with global audiences—particularly the majority of fans who may never attend a race in person. Sim Racing and Esports offer powerful, scalable ways to bring fans closer to the team, tapping into new communities, platforms, and formats, in partnership with the wider Red Bull family, giving Wiiings to people and ideas. Acting as the key link between strategy and execution, the Esports & Gaming Lead manages partnerships, oversees activations, and delivers innovative initiatives that both engage fans and create commercial value.

Accountabilities:

• Esports Planning & Delivery: Take ownership of Oracle Red Bull Racing’s Esports programs, ensuring effective execution of competitions, activations, and campaigns.
• Commercial Acumen: The candidate will be responsible for creating – and leading the sales for – the Team’s commercial proposition. Within that function, the candidate will also work closely with the Licencing team to develop a strategy to create revenue streams from endemic licenced products.
• Driver Management: The candidate will be responsible for recruiting and negotiating with new drivers and/or Team ambassadors to help achieve core objectives.
• Partnership Leadership: Manage relationships with gaming partners, licensees, and industry stakeholders, delivering value and aligning to agreed KPIs.
• Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team to deliver an exceptional fan experience through our platforms.
• Strategic Input: Contribute to shaping the long-term gaming and Esports strategy in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Campaign Oversight: Oversee integrated marketing and communications plans across digital and traditional channels, ensuring strong brand presence.
• Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities across platforms, technologies, and business models to grow reach and revenue.
• Performance & Reporting: Monitor activity against KPIs, analyse outcomes, and provide recommendations to optimise performance.
• Industry Engagement: Stay ahead of gaming and Esports trends, benchmarking against competitors and bringing forward innovative ideas.

Essential Competencies:

• 8–10 years’ experience, including 5+ years in gaming / Esports, ideally in F1 or motorsport.
• Strong knowledge of gaming and Esports ecosystems, including key players, platforms, and business models.
• Proven track record of delivering successful campaigns and managing high-value partnerships.
• Skilled in project and stakeholder management, with the ability to influence at multiple levels.
• Data-driven, with strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Confident communicator, able to bridge between commercial, technical, and marketing teams.

• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time (e.g., F1 Sim Racing events, industry events, sponsor activations).
• Energetic, proactive, and results-oriented, with a hands-on approach to delivery.
• Collaborative and adaptable, thriving in fast-moving and cross-functional environments.
• Customer-focused, committed to building positive and productive relationships with partners and fans.
