MySQL Database Administrator

Candidate will be providing MySQL database administration support. Managing/Senior Principal Consultant designs and implements individual components of the Oracle products based on area of expertise. Analyzes detailed requirements and develops detailed design for a specific Oracle product or technology. Provides implementation services for a specific product to include extensions and additional configurations necessary to implement customer unique business processes and workflows. Performs routine health checks and optimizations of system performance, availability, access controls and security. Performs system optimization, performance tuning and assists in capacity planning. Performs proactive analysis of potential issues, risks and roadblocks during system implementation and operations.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure new MySQL servers (5.x and 8.x)
• Design and development of MySQL stored procedures
• Upgrade MySQL databases, both major and minor revisions
• Administer MySQL account access, backups and table spaces
• Migrate MySQL databases
• Monitor MySQL server performance

Requirements

• TS/SCI FSP Clearance
• BS in CS or related course of study, or equivalent year’s experience
• COMPTIA Security Plus certified
• 10+ years experience administering to, and engineering solutions with, Oracle MySQL
• Extensive experience with database design and modeling as well as the collection and interpretation of customer requirements relevant to database migration, troubleshooting, performance observation and tuning
• Be an independent worker with strong communications skills
