Our team in Drug Product Development for Biologics is responsible for the development, characterization and optimization of pharmaceutical dosage forms, including drug formulations and primary packaging, as well as robust manufacturing processes. We work with state-of-the-art technologies to bring new biopharmaceutical products from the lab to full production scale. You will join a committed, interdisciplinary team that collaborates closely to make medications available to patients worldwide.

Job Description
What we offer:
- A chance to work on an innovative pharmaceutical development project for at least 6 months, gaining valuable real-world experience.
- Learn how we develop and optimize pharmaceutical dosage forms for commercial products focusing on the patient’s needs.
- Engage in innovative development approaches, such as novel protein formulation components or hybrid development strategies using both wet lab and in silico tools.
- Onboarding and individual mentoring by an experienced supervisor with deep scientific and technical knowledge.
- The opportunity to gain insights into developing commercial production processes that consistently produce future biotherapeutics for patients worldwide and to learn how we integrate knowledge on protein biochemistry and technical process understanding.
Essential Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a master´s program in a relevant field such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Molecular Medicine, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, or Process Engineering.
- A solution-oriented mindset and a high willingness to learn new skills and concepts.
- You have a self-driven, team-oriented work style – you take responsibility for your tasks and enjoy working collaboratively.
- Interest for or knowledge in data science, statistical data analysis, and process modeling, simulation, automation and basic programming (e.g. Phyton) is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office for data analysis and documentation.
- Advanced communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
Novartis Austria is one of the most modern and innovative manufacturing sites in the Novartis network. The sites in Tirol have approximately 3,500 employees and there are approximately 350 employees in the marketing & sales office in Vienna.
The site in Tirol is in the middle of the Austrian Alps with excellent infrastructure.

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 2.010,75€/month (on a full-time basis).
