Financial Accountant, temporary position

We are looking for a Financial accountant to join our Financial Reporting team in Arendal and stay with us at least until December 2026.

You are analytical, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting. You have a proactive mindset and enjoy solving different accounting and reporting challenges. You will interact with colleagues across different functions and countries, external stakeholders and the external audit team.

The position is based at our head office in Arendal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Financial reporting team in the quarterly closings of the accounts for the legal entities and branches within the Gard group, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all accounting records.
• Assist in preparing statutory accounts and management reports for the legal entities and branches within the Gard group.
• Assist the Financial Reporting team in handling various ad hoc queries on accounting, VAT and tax and in other ongoing projects.
• Collaborate with other teams within the Gard group such as actuarial, risk, and legal teams on cross-functional matters.

The person we are looking for has:

• A Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Experience working as an accountant, an auditor or with other relevant accounting work.
• Experience working in industries that are under the supervision of the Norwegian FSA (or equivalent), preferably the Insurance industry, is an advantage.
• Good command of various IT applications and an interest in efficient use of digital tools and development of processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills. You are collaborative, analytical and business-oriented.
• Good communication skills in written and spoken Norwegian and English.
