We're looking for a visionary and strategic Property Growth and Partnerships Lead to join our team and drive the expansion of our housing portfolio.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Property Officer, you will be instrumental in identifying, shaping, and securing strategic growth opportunities aligned with Link Wentworth's mission and development pipeline. This is a critical role responsible for unlocking value through:

  • Government programs
  • Redevelopment of our existing managed portfolio
  • Innovative delivery models in partnership with public and private sector organisations

You will work collaboratively with Executive Leadership and our Development team to convert strategic intent into real-world housing outcomes by:

  • sourcing and assessing early-stage opportunities
  • shaping competitive strategic responses including business cases, proposals, and funding applications
  • forging strategic partnerships that align with our mission, delivery capacity, and our vision for growth

Key Responsibilities

Growth & Pipeline Development

  • Identify and assess strategic growth opportunities including land acquisition, turnkey delivery with private developers, joint ventures, planning uplift, and new government funding programs
  • Lead and progress early feasibility studies, partnering proposals, and concept assessments to actively shape and advance pipeline growth
  • Business case development for new opportunities and redevelopment opportunities of our existing managed portfolio
  • Translate strategic opportunities into practical project pathways, ensuring new projects move from concept to actionable pipeline prospects

Strategic Partnerships & Capital Engagement

  • Establish and maintain high-trust relationships with government agencies, developers, investors, CHPs, and councils to unlock co-development or fee-for-service models
  • Engage with capital partners to explore and shape innovative funding structures
  • Shape new ventures beyond traditional development, including fee-for-service delivery, tenancy management, and strategic M&A
  • Shape funding strategies leveraging grants, concessional finance, and co-investment models

Policy & Government Relations

  • Monitor changes in public policy, planning frameworks, and government funding to identify early opportunities and mitigate risks
  • Track upcoming funding programs and RFPs to position Link Wentworth for strategic, credible responses
  • Position Link Wentworth for success in upcoming government programs, e.g. HAFF rounds 3 and 4

Leadership & Influence

  • Provide strategic advice to the Executive Leadership Team on growth and policy direction
  • Contribute to Board-level materials for new growth opportunities

Innovation & Delivery Enablement

  • Identify ESG-aligned development opportunities, supporting the organisation’s sustainability agenda
  • Shape and pilot innovative delivery mechanisms (e.g. modular, ECI, asset-led redevelopment)
  • Work cross-functionally to test new housing typologies and delivery models aligned to policy and market needs

What You'Ll Bring

We're looking for a highly capable professional with a deep commitment to social and affordable housing.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A degree in Property, Urban Planning, Project Management, Finance, or a related discipline (post-graduate qualifications are desirable)
  • Extensive experience in property development strategy, partnerships, or capital engagement
  • Demonstrated experience in business case preparation, funding applications, and strategic partnerships
  • Proven ability to work on complex housing delivery projects with government agencies, developers, and investors

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of the NSW housing policy environment, funding programs, and planning frameworks
  • Knowledge of innovative delivery models, partnership structures, and capital sourcing strategies, including familiarity with ESG-aligned investment
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong strategic analysis, negotiation, and influencing capability
  • High level of political and commercial acumen

If you meet our criteria and are ready to convert strategic opportunities into actionable, life-changing housing outcomes, we encourage you to apply!
