The Role
The Senior Business Analyst acts as a crucial link between the IT Health team and the hospital's clinical and administrative departments, ensuring that technology solutions effectively meet business needs and deliver positive outcomes. This role involves leading comprehensive investigations, analyses, reviews, and documentation of business requirements to support improvement initiatives, while also playing a key role in the successful implementation of IT projects, fostering business agility, and enhancing patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business analysts, subject matter experts, and end users to gather and analyse business requirements.
- Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional specifications.
- Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding of business requirements, technical solutions and business benefits.
- Collaborate with MQ Health and stakeholders on project strategies, requirements and feasibility assessments.
- Support the development and execution of test plans and test cases to ensure system testing accurately validates whether the system meets business requirements.
- Support change management and training activities to facilitate process and end user adoption.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation to support scope and requirements traceability, change control, adoption of future state processes, continuous improvement, and ongoing supportability of the platform.
- Raise risks and issues to appropriate members of the project/program and support the management of controls or mitigation actions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, data models, and process and data flows.
- Provide post-implementation support and monitor system performance.
About You
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in business process and technical contexts.
- An ability to understand complex clinical workflows to identify opportunities for improvement through technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven experience supporting business requirement gathering, user acceptance testing, change management and training activities, to facilitate successful system implementation and process adoption.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project, business process, user support, and system support documentation.
- Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders with varying levels of technical literacy to deliver successful outcomes.
Desirable Criteria:
- Familiarity with tools such as Visio, Figma, Jira, Confluence, or similar.
- Experience in working in a healthcare environment and familiar with healthcare data standards and terminologies.
- Experience working with external vendors or implementation partners.
