Job Summary:
Serves as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacy services. Responsible for guiding patients through the medication access process, ensuring timely prescription fulfillment, and addressing barriers to medication adherence. Works closely with clinical teams, insurance providers, and specialty pharmacies to optimize patient outcomes and enhance the overall healthcare experience.
Job Requirements:
Education And Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Four years' experience in a healthcare related field: Preferred
- Retail Pharmacy experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- State Pharmacy Techncian license: Required
- Pharmaceutical Technician Board certification: Preferred
- State Pharmacy Technician (PTC): Required
Essential Functions:
- Serves as the initial point of contact for patients requiring specialty medications. Guides patients through benefits verification, prior authorization, and financial assistance processes.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with clinic staff, physicians, and pharmacy teams. Promotes the value of the health system’s preferred specialty pharmacy through education and exceptional service. Influences referral patterns to optimize prescription capture rates and improve continuity of care.
- Coordinates prescription processing, documentation, and delivery logistics. Maintains accurate records in EMR and pharmacy systems. Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance service delivery.
- Executes marketing plans to expand pharmacy services and increase revenue. Delivers professional presentations and facilitate educational sessions for clinic and hospital staff. Consults with leadership on opportunities to enhance patient access and satisfaction.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
