Role Description:
This role is part of Arcadis’ Global Excellence Centre (GEC) and will join our 3,000+ talented individuals working in India, Romania, and Philippines, in partnership with Arcadis’ offices globally. Qualification & Experience:
- Post-Graduation in Civil/Structure Engineering
- Actively progressing towards professional licensure, such as P.Eng. (Professional Engineer) in PE in the United States
- 10–12 years of relevant experience in the design and delivery of highway and rail bridges, stations, and associated civil and utility structures.
- Extensive experience leading design teams and managing multidiscipline infrastructure projects is highly desirable. Minimum 3 years of working experience on Design & Build Projects in USA
Role Accountabilities:
- Lead and oversee the delivery of complex structural design projects for highways, railways, and associated civil or utility works, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to design teams, reviewing and approving work to ensure quality, constructability, and safety.
- Manage all stages of the design process, from concept development and optioneering through detailed engineering to construction support and project close-out.
- Take primary responsibility for project planning, resource allocation, scheduling, and delivery against programmed timelines, budgets, and health & safety objectives.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams, fostering strong professional relationships and ensuring effective communication.
- Oversee the resolution of complex technical and interdisciplinary design issues, driving innovation and value engineering where appropriate.
- Ensure robust quality assurance and control procedures are implemented across all deliverables.
- Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives and actively contribute to the development of team capabilities and best practices.
Required Specific Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Advanced knowledge of Canadian (CSA/NBC) and US (AASHTO/ACI) design standards, as well as delivery processes in the ANA (Atlantic North America) region.
- Proven track record in the design and delivery of major prestressed and steel composite bridges, including complex and non-standard structures.
- Expertise in conceptualizing, designing, and coordinating multidisciplinary infrastructure projects using advanced digital engineering tools and methodologies.
- Highly skilled in structural analysis and design using software such as MIDAS, ROBOT, STAAD, LEAP Bridge, RAM Connection, and others.
- Comprehensive experience in BIM processes, common data environment management, and integration of digital design and drafting tools (e.g., Revit, MicroStation, ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud).
- Strong project management skills, including resource planning, risk management, and financial oversight.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with emerging trends and technologies in structural engineering.
