A Day In The Life

Within Medtronic Cardiovascular portfolio, the Structural Heart and Aortic (SH&A) integrated operating unit focuses on transcatheter replacement or repair of the four heart valves—aortic, pulmonic, mitral, tricuspid—and the placement of stent grafts to treat aneurysms and dissections of the body’s largest artery, the aorta.

Within the Western Europe (WE) SH&A Finance team, working closely with Business & Finance Leadership, you will support business growth and profitability through financial analysis, modelling & planning; identifying improvement areas and leading actions to deliver world-class performance. The position will be based in Milan, Italy with hybrid working location (at least 1 day in the office per week).

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: 

• Contribute actively to FP&A activities, including the annual operating plan cycle, forecasts and current quarter estimates and analysis
• Analyse market dynamics, revenue, margins and expenses of our products and regions; coordinate and follow-up on operational actions to drive growth and profitability
• Organize and drive monthly finance performance reviews with Western Europe countries’ leaders
• Update and advance our reporting to answer new needs in a fast-changing environment. Leverage Data Science tools, software and techniques to build insightful analysis
• Communicate financial and operational performance trends, commentaries and forecasts to business and finance counterparts and disseminate finance acumen in the organization
• Support preparation, attend and follow-up on business and leadership reviews (weekly leadership calls, quarterly business reviews…)
• Understand and explain to the business stakeholders accounting guidance leveraging expertise from controllership function when needed.

Required Knowledge And Experience:

• Master’s degree in finance or economics
• Minimum of 1-year relevant experience
• Strong verbal & written communication skills in English (preferred as C1 or above)
• Strong analytical skills & problem-solving skills
• Proficient in OneStream, PowerBI, Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook
• Proactive, organized, action oriented, eager to learn, develop and work in teams
• Detail-oriented & organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and conclude timely, independently and in teams.

Previous work experience within the Cardiovascular Portfolio is preferred.
