A little more about your role…
- Manage and deliver Development consultancy services to a high level to external and internal clients.
- Proficient in using industry best practice software packages InfoDrainage and Civils 3D.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Reviews the work of junior team members to improve quality and ensure compliance with scope and brief.
- Experience in undertaking spatial coordination, technical design on projects through to construction and handover on large scale complex projects.
- Support junior members of the team in the preparation, checking and submission of various section agreements under the Water Industry Act 1991.
- Utilise your understanding of industry guidelines including NPPF, SuDS Manual, The Design and Construction Guidance, and related technical standards.
- Produce clear and well-written technical reports, effectively providing technical advice and information in a clear and concise manner.
- Supporting the preparation of design H&S risk management plans and schedules.
- Lead the day-to-day engineering design aspects of projects within agreed upon timeframes and budgets.
- Delivery of a wide variety of civil engineering projects, such as highway, public realm, infrastructure and site development schemes.
- Delivery of projects from concept through to completion and ensuring they are delivered to a high technical standard, in a timely manner and with commercial success.
- Liaison with discipline leads and preparing updates to scheme programmes.

We help our clients to promote, implement and manage sustainable development, from pre-feasibility through to planning consent; establish plans and provision for how an area, its accessibility and needs, will develop over time and guide sustainable future development; and develop multi-disciplinary design from concept through to detailed design and construction. We work with public/private sector land promoters and house builders, developers, signature architects, Government, and local authorities.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Actively participating in an appropriate professional institution and either has, or is proactively seeking, corporate professional membership.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent technical reporting writing and review skills.
- Proven experience post degree in designing sustainable drainage solutions.
- Knowledge and understanding of drainage design principles and solutions to manage infrastructure drainage.
- Proficient in using InfoDrainage for sitewide and building drainage.
- Experience in Civils 3D for use in earthworks, SuDS basins and ideally utilities coordination.
- Proven knowledge of relevant technical standards, UK Building Regulations, Design Standards, Codes of Practice and Health & Safety regulations.
- Experience in S278 and S38 highway design and knowledge of appropriate DMRB design standards.
- Successful management of projects/programmes and leading teams to meet both quality and commercial targets.
- Good communication skills and to sustain client relationships and attend client progress meetings.
