Summary:

JAPAC business development and outbound product management for all database-related products for cloud and license, with a special emphasis on Autonomous Database (strategic product) and with a goal to drive significant market growth in the region.

Competencies

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant regional experience in database and cloud business development, selling cloud infrastructure (IaaS) and /or platform (PaaS) services.
  • 5 years of experience in deploying analytics, data lakes, data marts and/or machine learning projects.  Existing experience with Oracle database, autonomous database and analytics tools preferable.
  • Understanding of competitive solutions in cloud and non-cloud environments i.e. Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Neteeza, Teradata and/or Postgres
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently, team worker and can-do attitude.



Engages in business development strategies and programs in support of Oracle's Sales Organization. 

Oversees the development of strategic market/product line business plans and marketing programs to support sales in designated market segments. Engages in many areas of business development to include strategy, programs, demand generation, building pipeline, increasing deal size, and account planning. Analyzes market data to identify trends/opportunities and develops strategic direction from market information. Identifies volume and strategic customers. Primary interaction is with Oracle sales force; however, may interact with external customers as it relates to the development and facilitation of ongoing business and/or business relationship. Supports the business by interfacing with the sales organization and other internal groups (such as Product Development, Operations, GBUs, Marketing, etc.) 

Acknowledged authority within the Corporation.  Acts as a leader of large-scale company initiatives.  Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. 12+ years of Marketing/Business Development experience in the technology industry, preferably software industry. Experience should include relationship management. Conversant in Oracle technology and product strategies. Ability to determine strategy and tactical plans that deliver tangible results. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. BA/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable. 
 

Responsibilities

  • Establish credibility with local sales and pre-sales leadership to influence to drive key database sales plays
  • Drive key opportunities and marquee deals involving key executives in product development.
  • Proactively identify / remove sales obstacles either commercial or technical
  • Create relevant enablement plans in country for strategic sales plays
  • Build executive relationships with key database customers to drive customer satisfaction, better customer experience, and referenceability.
  • Establish a customer advisory board and provide regular product updates to key customers
  • Support on-going region wide and/or local marketing activities
  • Identify and on-board new implementation partners
  • Identify key ISV partners to champion the use of database
