Roles & Responsibilities
As a Senior Tax Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing complex tax compliance processes, focusing on UK corporate and, ideally, partnership tax filings. You will leverage your expertise in analysing financial data from KPMG systems such as SAP, Concur, and Coupa, and prepare precise tax schedules and computations for submission to HMRC. Your role will also involve mentoring junior team members, ensuring accuracy in all tax documentation, and contributing to the firm’s overall tax strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
•Analyse data from a tax perspective, reconciling accounting entries from various KPMG systems including SAP, Concur, and Coupa. •Prepare and finalise tax schedules for partnership tax computations for HMRC submissions. •Develop precise tax computations for KPMG’s UK corporate entities and permanent establishments, using Digitax and Alphatax software. •Review and independently verify tax schedules and computations created by other team members. •Assist in ongoing data analysis relating to KPMG’s broader tax affairs, such as overseas tax filing requirements and Country-by-Country reporting. •Collaborate on estimating year-end taxable profits figures and deferred tax calculations for the firm.Overseas Tax Responsibilities:
•Conduct analysis of travel data using Alteryx and Excel to ensure compliance with KPMG UK policy. •Prepare preliminary overseas tax computations and assist with ad hoc data analysis for diverse countries’ filing requirements.Employment Tax Responsibilities:
•Provide support in collating information from overseas offices and aiding in annual compliance and settlement reporting reviews.This role is for you if you have the below
•Extensive experience in UK corporate tax compliance; knowledge of partnership tax issues is advantageous but not mandatory. •Basic accounting expertise and familiarity with accounting standards. •Strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction with peers, senior, and junior team members. •Proven ability to extract, assimilate, and analyse information swiftly and accurately. •Proficiency in Excel and adaptability to KPMG’s in-house systems (e.g., SAP). •Demonstrated organisational skills, investigational nature, and respect for confidential information. •Self-starter with the ability to discern when to seek advice.Preferred technical & functional skills
•Excellent Communication Skills •Understanding of UK Tax laws , financial Reporting & analysis •Over 6 years relevant experience of data analysis in an operational or professional services environment •Strong proficiency in MS Excel, VBA, Power Query, Alteryx •Knowledge of Data Analytics toolsMultitasking Skills
