The Opportunity: 
Are you ready to lead financial strategy for some of the most impactful global pharmaceutical brands? Astellas is seeking a highly experienced Global Strategic Brands Finance Lead to join our Warsaw office. This is a senior leadership role that directly influences global brand performance, investment decisions, and financial strategy across our commercial portfolio. You will work closely with Global Strategic Brand Heads in Marketing and Medical, and lead a small team of finance professionals to deliver value, insight, and financial excellence. This is more than a finance role — it’s a strategic partnership opportunity to shape the future of healthcare innovation.

Key Responsibilities: 
Performance Management

• Lead brand budget reviews and support lifecycle management decisions.
• Track brand performance using KPIs and financial reporting tools.
• Guide regional finance teams to manage risks and opportunities.
• Recommend strategies for revenue growth, margin improvement, and medical investment impact.
• Support target-setting across commercial divisions in alignment with global brand strategy.
• Ensure disciplined expense management for Global Brand Strategy teams.

Strategic Partnering

• Act as financial advisor to Global Brand Strategy Heads and New Product Planning.
• Align financial resources with brand priorities to maximize performance.
• Collaborate with regional VALUE delivery finance leads and partners in Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Value Evidence.

Decision Support

• Lead financial planning assumptions and investment strategies.
• Develop frameworks to support ROI for commercial investments
• Develop frameworks to support impact analysis for medical investments
• Support evaluations for licensing deals, business cases, and asset valuations.
• Participate in global brand decision-making forums, including the Global Pricing Committee.

Compliance & Ethics

• Promote a strong culture of ethics and compliance across all finance activities.
• Ensure independence and integrity of Medical Affairs activities is always maintained throughout finance related activities.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to maintain compliance standards across global functions.

Essential Knowledge & Experience: 

• Solid, senior level experience in finance, with strong background in planning and budgeting within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Deep understanding of accounting standards and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial planning tools.
• Directly manages a team of 2–3 finance professionals (FBPs and FP&A).
• Influences decisions across VALUE delivery P&L for key brands.
• Proven success in matrix organizations and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong project and change management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate insights from data.
• High-level stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Strong commercial and organizational acumen.

Preferred Knowledge & Experience: 

• Experience managing brand portfolios with revenues exceeding $1bn.
• Leadership experience in strategic finance roles.
• Familiarity with global pricing, market access, and medical investment strategies.

Education/Qualification: 

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• MBA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent certification (or qualified by experience).
• Fluent English (spoken and written).

Additional Information: 
This is a permanent role based in our Global Capability Centre in Warsaw, Poland and hybrid working with the expectation for some office presence. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office
