Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000

Position Summary:
This Assistant Director will be involved in the recruitment, advising, and success of undergraduate students enrolled in the TUSP Pre-Pharmacy and bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences programs. This position will be under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of Admissions (ADA) and collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Marketing and Communications, Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, and Associate Director of Recruitment on the duties listed below. This position will be evaluated annually based on the needs of the program.

- Required Education and Experience:
- * Master’s degree with at least two years of post-degree professional experience in higher education.
- * An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
* Technology skills: Microsoft office, email, virtual conferencing, calendar management, ability to learn new computer systems and applications
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for presentations and written communications
* Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with students in group settings.
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, develop alternative solutions, and consider all facets of an issue.
* Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and discretion.
* Ability to maintain a consistently positive and objective approach to student service.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with others as part of a team in a high-volume and changing environment.
* Demonstrated ability to form positive relationships and work collaboratively with diverse students, faculty and staff.
* Knowledge and use of personal computers and proficiency in student records systems as well as software and programs that increase efficiencies
- Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- * Experience in education, and or advising required and knowledge of pre-health professional programs preferred.
Essential Duties:
Strengthen Recruitment and Enrollment Growth
* Contribute to recruitment efforts, including tracking program prospects, determining high yield schools and locations to target recruitment, analyzing admissions data, and supporting plans to increase enrollment yield.
* Work with the Assistant Dean of Marketing and Communications to develop marketing, email campaigns, and messaging for prospective students.
* Work with the Associate Director of Recruitment to plan and attend recruitment events to represent Temple and the undergraduate pharmacy programs at strategic locations locally, and regionally.
* Attend open houses and Experience Temple Days to represent TUSP.
- Enhance Student Success and Retention
- * Participate in undergraduate orientation as needed by the advising unit.
- * Create mentorship program with faculty and/or peer groups to promote success and inclusion.
- * Assist and liaise with advisors in the undergraduate academic resource center to ensure students are registered for appropriate courses.
- * Advise prospective and transfer students in the pre-pharmacy and BSPS programs. Serve as a liaison to the PharmD program when needed.
- * Track and report academic progress of students after each semester to identify students at risk of not completing the program.
- * Work with Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs to identify and determine academic tutoring programs that are needed to support student success.
- * Create resources for job/internship opportunities for BSPS students.
Build Program Visibility and Engagement
* Once program has graduates, highlight strengths and outcomes of the program for marketing.
* Develop programming for prospective BSPS students to inform them about job opportunities.
* Work with the Assistant Dean of Marketing and Communications to identify website updates to ensure a user-friendly website with easy-to-find admissions and program details for the BSPS and Pre-pharmacy programs.
* Engage with alumni to serve as mentors and guest speakers.
