The Data Center Infrastructure Services (DCIS) team sits within TikTok's global technology structure and supports the company's fast growth by building and operating hyper-scale datacenters, managing the life cycle of server fleet, providing cloud solutions, and developing various infrastructure services, making sure they are scalable and are reliable.
Role Insight:
We are seeking a DC Operations Technician (DCOT) to join our team. This entry-level role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to kickstart their career in Data Center Operations. The DC Operations Technician will work closely with their peers and cross team to support the maintenance, security, and day-to-day operations of our data center facilities. You will need to have a basic knowledge of computer software and hardware, server hardware and a basic understanding of network protocols and equipment is critical for this role. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving server issues, escalating issues and working collaboratively with remote teams. Additionally, you will work within the server rack lifecycle process and focus on helping buildout computing and storage environments. You will also need to have working knowledge and experience in at least one of the following core areas: IT Support, Computer Hardware Repair, Understanding of administrative tools such as MS Excel, Solid communication skills, the ability to work independently and also within teams, are a critical requirement for this role. You will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and flexibility will be key to performing well.
Responsibilities:
- Possibility to work in a 24x7 shift rotation to provide break-fix support to the IT infrastructure.
- Ensure all safety/security policies & standards are adhered to on site by visitors.
- Work within a ticketing system process in support of server fleet.
- Perform power cycles, troubleshooting, and replace failed components such as cables/hard drives/motherboards and network devices.
- Physically assist in moving and installing equipment.
- Have a strong desire and capability to learn, grow, and develop new skills.
- Establish strong working relationships with various internal teams and external partners.
- Other tasks required by management
