This role will be part of our Commercial (Content, Media & Partnerships) Legal Team, sitting within the wider Europe Commercial Legal Team, a full-service commercial and corporate function advising TikTok across the UK, Ireland, and continental Europe.
The team partners closely with Global Content, Creative Ops, Global Business Marketing, Commercial Partnership Solutions, and Distribution Partnerships colleagues to structure and negotiate strategic deals that drive TikTok's monetisation strategy. We also play a key role in building a rich and diverse content ecosystem that inspires creativity and delivers joyful experiences to our users.
Our work spans a broad range of high-profile initiatives, including TikTok One (our flagship creative marketing platform bringing together creators, agencies, and advertisers), global and regional sponsorship and partnership agreements, professionally generated content (PGC) licensing deals, and innovative advertising and media activations designed to unlock incremental revenue.
As TikTok continues to scale its presence and offerings in Europe, the Commercial Legal team plays a pivotal role in enabling sustainable growth while safeguarding TikTok's core objective of building a trusted platform where creativity thrives and communities are enriched.
Responsibilities:
- Platform & Content Ecosystem
- Advise on all commercial aspects of TikTok One, including drafting global terms, managing the partner/creator/brand ecosystem, handling legal escalations, and assessing new features to mitigate risk.
- Draft and negotiate PGC licensing deals, ensuring appropriate rights acquisition, distribution, and monetisation.
- Partnerships & Events
- Support major cultural and brand events (e.g. TikTok Awards, sports events, music festivals), including sponsorship, artist performance, production, and media activation agreements.
- Provide business affairs and contractual support for advertiser and brand partnerships around major cultural moments, working closely with Commercial Partnership Solutions to unlock incremental revenue.
- Draft, review, and negotiate talent agreements with high-profile creators, artists, and public figures for branded content, marketing campaigns, and innovative media activations.
- Advise on trademark approvals and licensing of TikTok's brand assets, ensuring consistent and compliant use in commercial partnerships.
- Operational Excellence
- Contribute to knowledge management, process optimisation, and template development to scale best practices across Europe while aligning with global legal standards.
- Deliver clear and pragmatic legal advice to senior stakeholders across Content, Marketing, Creative Ops, and Partnerships, balancing legal risk with commercial opportunity in a fast-paced environment.
