The successful candidate will be based in Discrete Automation's corporate office in Florham Park, NJ.  The Director, Sales Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) is responsible for leading the end-to-end SIOP process to optimize supply chain performance, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive operational efficiency. This role ensures effective demand planning, inventory management, and production alignment to meet business objectives. The Director collaborates closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to balance demand and supply while improving forecast accuracy, reducing costs, and increasing profitability.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE: 

  • Develop and lead the overall SIOP strategy, aligning with business goals to optimize supply chain performance.
  • Direct the cross-functional SIOP process, ensuring sales forecasts, supply plans, financial targets, and production schedules are fully aligned.
  • Establish and continuously improve standard processes, policies, and analytics to enhance forecasting, demand planning, supply agility, and inventory management.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Procurement to balance cost, service levels, capacity, and inventory while mitigating risks.
  • Leverage advanced planning tools, ERP, and analytics to improve visibility, scenario planning, and decision-making.
  • Facilitate executive SIOP meetings, presenting insights, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and data-driven performance improvement across the organization.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations/engineering, supply chain management, business administration, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in supply chain or operations within manufacturing, including leading teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Proven success driving global SIOP/IBP processes and aligning demand, supply, and financial planning.
  • Skilled in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.), demand planning tools, and data analytics.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across all levels.
  • Travel up to 50% (domestic and international).
  • Authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART: 

  • 10+ years in supply chain, operations planning, or inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
  • 7+ years proven success leading a team of individuals in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • MBA or related advanced degree highly preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in using Oracle, preferred but not required.
