Designer II Civil/Structural

Zachry Engineering Corporation, (ZEC) is currently looking for a talented and self-motivated Designer II Civil/ Structural to join our Omaha, Nebraska Design Center. The role will involve the application of general design practices on steel and concrete structures utilizing CADD for creation of models and design drawings. The ideal candidate will bring a strong civil/structural design expertise, sound multidisciplinary judgment, and the ability to deliver technically robust solutions across multiple complex projects.

• Perform layout and design of steel and concrete structures from basic data.
• Develop working drawings and 3D models to company and industry standards.
• Check and analyze 3D models for accuracy, completeness, and interferences.
• Create complex detailed design drawings in 2D and 3D from sketches or specifications.
• Apply advanced CADD and standard design application techniques.
• Incorporate manufacturer’s documentation into the design process.
• Communicate and collaborate with project engineers and designers to ensure cohesive design.
• Advise and direct junior drafting personnel.
• Provide field support, including verifications, as-built documentation, and installation supervision.
• Associate degree in Drafting/Design/Engineering Technology or equivalent job-related experience (2 years job related experience equivalent to 1 year college).
• Must have 7 plus years of professional experience in engineering drafting and design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Autodesk Structural packages is essential; AVEVA (E3D or PDMS) software is preferred.
• Knowledge of Navisworks, Bluebeam Revu, and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of civil/structural design practices.
• Experience with AWP (Advanced Work Packaging) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and interface with other disciplines.
• Experience with AVEVA (E3D or PDMS) software is preferred.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
