Finance Associate

Responsibilities:

• Conducts competitive analyses and research using both company data and syndicated data sources to determine effects of pricing on market share and performance.
• Maintains reporting and analysis tools and reports to ensure accuracy and readiness for use
• Extracts financial data from company databases using SQL to support custom reporting
• Prepares presentation materials for monthly Sales meetings
• Analyzes reports and validates data for accuracy
• Participates in the development of department procedures and performance measures.
• Prepares forecasts and analyzes trends in sales, finance, general business conditions and other related areas.
• Prepares detail of work plan and schedule, completes detailed analysis and research, identifies options, prepares reports for management and recommends action or change for assigned projects.
• Conducts special financial and business-related studies as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of finance, economics, statistics or mathematics experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility
• Experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook with experience building formulas and working with pivot tables in Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of finance, economics, statistics or mathematics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of experience to include business analytics and financial modeling work.
• Expert level in MS Excel and PowerPoint including complex formula building, pivot tables and connections to external data sources in Excel
• Experience writing SQL queries to extract data from enterprise databases
• Working knowledge of pricing and revenue management concepts for consumer goods
• Ability to quickly analyze reporting outputs to validate data accuracy
• Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Experience writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Experience effectively present information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
• Experience working with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Experience solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Experience interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Experience applying established procedures to situations that are non-routine in nature requiring some evaluation, originality or ingenuity.
• Knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of this particular field of specialization.
