An E&I Maintenance Co-op will be involved with all aspects of the installation of new equipment and the repair of existing equipment. The E&I Maintenance Co-op is expected to follow Safe Work Permits instructions and fill in information required on the SWP concurrent with performing the specified operations. He/she is expected to keep their Foreman informed of any known or potential problem in a timely manner. He/she must comply with all applicable Policies and Procedures.
Key Accountabilities (What are the main accountabilities (responsibilities) of this job and the tasks required to fulfill them).
- Will apply trade skills taught via the E&I Maintenance Technician progression program, special seminars or learned on the job at SI Group or elsewhere. These skills will be augmented and guided as appropriate by verbal instruction from the Foreman, drawings and sketches, manufacturers’ instruction manuals and/or SI Group Engineering Specifications and Standards.
- Expected to keep his/her Foreman informed of the status of work. He/she is to inform the Foreman promptly of problems or unusual circumstances encountered during the work, and of completion of the work. Must also promptly inform the Foreman of conditions that prevent performance of the work as described on the work order or which cause substantial change in the work scope.
- Responsible for verifying the functional location and/or the SI Group equipment number of the equipment affected by the work order and for providing work history information accurately and concisely. Responsible for prompt, accurate, legible accounting of his time via the maintenance time sheet.
- Expected to read and understand written instructions from the Unit Coordinator.
- Expected to communicate process status and other necessary information to his/her relief, and to receive this information from the person he/she relieves, when on a shift rotation.
- Expected to keep his/her work area clean using 5s methods.
- Expected to acquire and maintain a license to operate the Manlift and Fork truck.
- Expected to wear a Respirator and Level A suit work.
Safety And Health
- Expected to follow the Orangeburg Plant Safety Policies.
- Expected to be aware of requirements of handling and shipping hazardous waste in regards to RCRA, DOT, and Emergency Procedures.
- Must have the requisite skills, education, or other qualifications as written in 40 CFR 265 including a training matrix and advancement manual specifying training requirement for this position.
- Must complete monthly CBT requirements.
Education And Experience:
- Must be enrolled in Industrial Electronics or Mechatronics Technology.
- Must have a cumulative 2.5 GPA
- Must be a full-time undergraduate student
