Engineering Manager, Full Stack, YouTube Shopping

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects.
• 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
• Experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying full-stack systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in leading consumer apps (e.g., front-end and back-end).
• Experience in developing and managing large-scale systems with availability and performance requirements.
• Ability to lead through technical and organizational problems and driving collaborations in a distributed engineering organization.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
• Set expectations with people aligned to the organization's goals. Drive improvement by conducting performance discussions, offer feedback, and providing focused coaching for development.
• Develop the technical goal and roadmap within the scope of the teams. Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
• Design and guide systems designs within the scope and write product or system development code to solve problems.
• Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
