Full Time
Prepare the company's income tax returns, including estimated payments and extension requests. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
- Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns, including a review of book-tax differences and supporting work papers
- Review estimated payments and extension requests (corporate and partnership)
- Research tax questions and related accounting consequences; document conclusions related to compliance and provision
- Assist with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and state audits, including reviewing data requests and coordinating responses
- Supervise work of lower level staff and interns
- Maintain flexibility to work occasional weekends
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions, including preparation and review of deferred tax balances
- Consolidate federal tax returns and review consolidated state tax returns (L9)
- Coordinate the tax fixed asset process, including working closely with accounting to reconcile items within the fixed asset ledger (L9)
- Review quarterly fixed asset reconciliations as prepared by accounting (L9)
- Drive process and technology efficiencies across the compliance process, including coordination of the e-filing process (L9)
- Assist with acquisition accounting and compliance integration (L9)
- Manage the Tax Compliance team, including setting roles and responsibilities, creating a timeline for tax preparation and ensuring due dates are met (L9)
- Manage the data gathering process, including coordinating with accounting department and division controllers to obtain critical data (L9)
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree accounting/finance
- 5+ years prior accounting/finance experience in a public company or public accounting firm
- 2+ years of experience in income tax accounting
- 4+ years tax compliance (federal and state) experience
- Excellent analytical skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Access
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to lead projects and work with contacts outside the department and company
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills
- Strong oral communication skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects

- Certified public accountant (CPA)
- Compliance/Provision software experience
