Assistant Career Development Manager (25260232)
The University is seeking an energetic, student-centered professional to join our Career Centre team. The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of marketing, branding, and communication campaigns across multiple channels, as well as outreach initiatives to boost engagement and participation among students and employers. You will play a key role in connecting students, employers, and internal stakeholders through impactful events, creative outreach, and consistent communication, while fostering a data-driven culture to maximise employability outcomes and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute marketing and communication initiatives for the Career Centre, including creating and distributing content across traditional and online media e.g., email, web, social media, WhatsApp, etc;
- Develop and implement effective outreach strategies to enhance engagement with key stakeholders, including students, employers, and internal departments;
- Plan, organise, and execute a wide range of events, from recruitment talks to exploration trips;
- Manage and coordinate efforts to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness of the HKBU job portal for a diverse pool of users;
- Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels;
- Provide career advising to students and support administrative duties, including compilation of finance reports and data analytics as required; and
- Perform various ad hoc tasks assigned by supervisors, contributing to the overall success of the team/department.
Requirements:
- A recognised bachelor’s degree, with at least 4-5 years of relevant experience in marketing, digital communications, or event planning;
- Demonstrated success in designing and delivering impactful marketing campaigns that drive engagement and measurable results;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese, with the ability to connect effectively with diverse stakeholders. Fluency in Putonghua is preferred;
- Proficient in digital content creation and distribution across web, email marketing, social media platforms, and multimedia channels. Experience with analytics tools is highly valued;
- Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, adept at interpreting insights to inform strategies and decision-making;
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative solutions and approaches to challenges;
- Effective collaborator and enthusiastic team player, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment;
- Experience in youth services or career services is an advantage; and
- Highly motivated with a keen eye for detail and a passion for engaging students, employers, and industry partners.
Candidates with less experience will be considered for the post of Senior Career Development Officer.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
