Schedule:

Hours scheduled between the hours of 8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday with some evenings/weekends commitments, flexible scheduling.

Qualifications:

Student Status, you are required to be directly enrolled in a course.

● Basic personal computer support knowledge
● Desire to learn about Morgridge Center programs and services
● Effective communication and interpersonal skills
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
● Evident reliability and dependability
● Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
● Admirable problem solving and time management skills
● Demonstrates a commitment to the values of equity and responsible community engagement.
● Ability to make a commitment of at least one academic year

Position Summary/Job Duties:

1. IT Support
● Troubleshoot computer support issues with staff (both hardware and software concerns)
● Troubleshoot issues with all technology in the Morgridge Center, i.e. copier, printers, etc
● Perform routine maintenance/updates on shared workstations with the Morgridge Center
● Create and maintain a log of all Morgridge Center technology which will include logging purchase dates, maintenance,
etc
● Work with Morgridge Center staff on implementing new software programs and/or uses for existing software programs to
improve efficiency of programs and procedures.
● Act as a source of knowledge for GivePulse, the software that the Morgridge Center utilizes for volunteering, events, and
storing related data. This will include troubleshooting, managing data integrity, and providing individuals with information
regarding the platform when needed. (You will be trained and no knowledge of the platform is expected).
● Serve as UW-Madison's GivePulse Ambassador, which includes recurring Zoom meetings and completing GivePulse
modules.
2. Customer Service
● Greet and assist visitors in person, by phone, and via email
● Answer questions regarding Morgridge Center programs and services
● Refer visitors to appropriate student or professional staff
● Assist guests in locating materials from the Morgridge Center’s resources
● Help students with preliminary search for public service opportunities
● Help students with transportation questions and concerns
3. Collaborate with colleagues on projects related to the operations intern’s interests
● Each operations intern will work on a variety of projects in collaboration with professional staff; this could include
projects related to communications, human resources, event planning, etc.
● Potentially serve on long-term Morgridge Center teams and committees
4. Attend the following meetings:
● Weekly 1 on 1 check-in with supervisor
● Spring Training: Typically this is held just before the start of the spring semester
● Bi-weekly student staff meeting on Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30pm
5. Other Duties as Assigned

Physical Demands:

May need to lift or move supplies weighing 30 lbs or less.
