Summary:
As a CNC Programmer / Machinist, you support the precision manufacturing of high-reliability embedded electronic systems by programming, setting up, and operating CNC and manual equipment. Your work ensures tight-tolerance mechanical components meet stringent quality and performance standards that directly contribute to our success.
Requirements
- Set up and operate CNC machinery to fabricate various parts
- Applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials and setup techniques
- Manage raw material and finished parts inventory in coordination with the Stockroom and Purchasing teams.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment and common troubleshooting when a malfunction occurs
- Track and maintain raw material, fixture, and tooling log
- Responsible for the design and implementation of fixturing equipment for both engineering and production purposes
- Responsible for sourcing and maintaining tooling/equipment needed
- Interface with Engineering, Production, and Quality to control and meet tolerances needed.
- Implementation of 6S practice and techniques in machine shop
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School Graduate and two (2) plus years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience utilizing manual knee mill, CNC vertical/horizontal mills, and other common machine shop equipment
- Ability to program 3-axis minimum (4/5-axis preferred) CNC toolpaths from step files and 3D models using CAM software
- Ability to design create and build workholding fixtures/assemblies for use in a manufacturing environment
- Strong CAM programming experience/knowledge. Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or Fusion.
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability and End-use Assembly
- Strong experience/knowledge in complex setups for reworking parts
- Demonstrated knowledge of materials, material strengths, and material uses
- Must have good oral and written communication skills (English
