Senior Information Technology Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior IT Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will
provide comprehensive hardware and software support to ensure smooth and efficient operations
across all IT systems. You will be the go-to expert for troubleshooting, resolving technical
issues, and providing training and guidance to staff. This is an exciting opportunity for someone
with strong technical expertise and a passion for problem-solving.
Duties And Key Responsibilities:
- Hardware Support:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, printers, and other IT hardware.
- Perform hardware upgrades and replacements as necessary.
- Ensure that all hardware is properly configured and optimized for end-users.
Software Support:
- Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems.
- Troubleshoot software issues and provide solutions to ensure software functionality.
- Collaborate with vendors for software support and licensing management.
- Technical Assistance & Troubleshooting:
- Provide hands-on technical support to staff, both in person and remotely.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Document technical issues and resolutions in a detailed, organized manner.
System Maintenance & Updates:
- Perform regular system checks, updates, and backups to maintain system
- integrity.
- Ensure all systems comply with company security protocols and policies.
- User Training & Support:
- Offer training to staff on new hardware, software, and IT processes.
- Develop and maintain user guides and instructional materials.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with IT managers to implement new IT initiatives and system improvements.
- Assist with the planning and execution of IT projects, including hardware rollouts and software migrations.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or related roles, with a focus on hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Proven experience with supporting Windows operating systems.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of hardware components and configuration.
- Proficiency in software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting (e.g., Microsoft Office, network software, antivirus solutions).
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills (Optional But Beneficial):
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure).
- Experience with Active Directory and server management.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Some on-call support may be required and Weekends as needed.
