About The Role

  • Electrode R&D Engineer. Support R&D efforts for internal and external medical device development projects, focusing on design, fabrication, and process optimization. Improve array R&D by enhancing product yield and manufacturing efficiency. Design parts, assemblies, jigs, and fixtures. Apply various prototyping techniques. Contribute to project milestones, design control, and deliverables. Generate and test proof-of-concept ideas through feasibility experiments. Perform hands-on device fabrication in a lab environment. Select and process materials for new product development. Develop test protocols, reports, draft experimental/testing procedures and sampling plan Analyze data using statistical tools to support process control and performance evaluation. Assist with grant submissions and write technical reports and process design specifications. Support the transition of R&D projects to manufacturing, drive improvements in array yield and provide required training to the technicians. Coordinate with consultants and vendors. 40 hours per week, $88,899/year. Requires Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and knowledge of 3D CAD design Software and Finite Element Analysis (FEA); Knowledge of Stereolithography (SLA) 3d printing, casting and machining; Familiarity with Micro-Electro-Mechanical-System (MEMS) and Electronic Packaging; Knowledge of Statistical analysis (R language); Understanding Quality control related concepts and Design of Experiments (DoE); Understanding of optimization methods for better manufacturability and repeatability of the product; Knowledge of materials including Polymers and Composites.
