Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Generalist to join our team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring smooth and compliant HR operations, with a strong focus on payroll processing, benefits administration and compliance management. The HR Generalist will serve as a trusted partner to employees and management, ensuring HR processes run efficiently and align with company policies and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration
- Accurately process semi-monthly payrolls for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Maintain accurate payroll records including timekeeping, earnings, deductions, taxes, and garnishments.
- Handle payroll discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, tax withholding, and deductions.
- Stay updated on payroll legislation and recommend changes as needed.
Benefits Administration
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and other voluntary benefits.
- Coordinate open enrollment, new hire enrollments, and changes throughout the year.
- Act as the main point of contact for employee benefits inquiries.
- Review and process benefits invoices from carriers accurately and on time, ensuring proper reconciliation and cost control.
Compliance Management
- Maintain and update company policies and procedures.
- Maintain Company’s insurance policies and reporting for Workers’ compensation and liability coverage.
- Manage workers' compensation claims process, including liaising with insurance providers and employees to facilitate smooth claim resolution.
- Manage and administer Employee Leave of Absence (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, personal leave, etc.).
- Prepare and complete audits and compliance reporting required by state, county, and federal agencies in a timely and accurate manner
- Perform additional HR tasks and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in payroll processing and HR generalist duties.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Rippling etc).
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Language Skills: Japanese preferred (to support communication with employees and stakeholders).
- Salary: $73,000-83,000(Base Salary) + Profit sharing
- Work schedule: Mon-Fri 9-6 (Hybrid work is available)
