Position Summary
We are looking for a Contract Manager to join Texicare. In this role, you will be responsible for negotiating and managing agreements with healthcare providers—including physician groups, and ancillary services—to build and maintain a high-quality, cost-effective, and competitive network. This role ensures seamless implementation of new and renewed contracts through effective coordination with internal teams. The Contract Manager also handles contract amendments and renegotiations in response to changing organizational needs and may lead related initiatives and projects to support overall business objectives.
Essential Job Functions
In This Role, You Will:
- Develop, negotiate, and maintain provider contracts in alignment with organizational policies and financial guidelines.
- Manage provider relationships, ensuring contract terms are met and resolving service issues.
- Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., Legal, Operations, Medical Management) to support contract implementation and network integrity.
- Analyze financial, operational, and utilization data to assess contract performance and support strategic decisions.
- Ensure accurate and timely contract submissions, amendments, and renewals.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of plan products, policies, and market trends to guide provider engagement and contracting strategies.
- Support corporate initiatives, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution of projects and goals.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- At least 2 years of managed care contracting and negotiating experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience in developing, managing and nurturing key provider relationships.
- Knowledge of various reimbursement methodologies, including incentive-based models preferred.
- An understanding and experience with managed care, and provider business models.
- A collaborative approach with proven ability to develop strong working relationships within a fast-paced organization.
- Customer centric and interpersonal skills are required.
- Demonstrates an ability to maneuver effectively in a changing environment.
- Adept in Practiced problem solving, decision-making, negotiating, contract language and financial acumen.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
It would be great if you have:
- Public speaking and presentation skills to present terms and value propositions to physician groups and leadership
- Basic financial modeling to understand how rate changes impact medical cost and network competitiveness
- Contract language experience with reviewing redlines, understanding contract clauses at an intermediate level.

Location
Texicare offers a flex-hybrid environment centered around collaboration and connection. All employees must reside in Texas. Team members living in the Austin area are expected to work from our office at least two days per week. Those based outside the greater Austin area may work remotely within Texas, with occasional travel to Austin as needed.
