Job Overview:

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you’ll work closely with nurses to provide hands-on care and support to patients. Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with personal hygiene, including bathing, brushing teeth, toileting, and changing linens
• Helping patients with mobility, repositioning, and transfers
• Monitoring and recording vital signs
• Documenting important information in patient charts
• Providing compassionate care, including support for patients nearing the end of life

This PCT position is specifically for an outpatient lactation clinic, performing infant weight checks and assisting mothers with lactation needs. The Lactation Patient Care Tech assists the Lactation Consultant with baby weight checks and answers basic lactation questions. Enters information into the electronic medical record. Provides excellent customer service in sales of gifts and lactation items. Knowledgeable of store products; operates cash register and calculates daily totals/settlements for deposit; schedules outpatient lactation appointments; and performs bra fittings.

Required: Certifications/Licenses/Education:

• Basic Life Support: Health Care Provider, within six months of hire.
• Completion of a high school education or equivalent (GED) preferred 
• Successfully complete PCT classes as required by care center/unit
• Holds or willingness to complete Lactation Certification as required by the care center/unit
