Petroineos comprises trading and refining joint ventures between PetroChina International (London) Company Limited and INEOS. Established in 2011, Petroineos is one of Europe’s leading International Integrated Energy Trading Companies. 

 
In addition to third-party trading, Petroineos Trading's key functions include the supply of Crude Oil to Petroineos and PetroChina refineries and the arrangement of the sale and distribution of the various products that are produced from the refineries. 

 
Commodities traded and originated across Petroineos and PetroChina’s Low Carbon Solutions business in London include Crude, Oil Products, LNG, Gas, Power, Emissions, Renewable Certificates, Bio-fuels and Metals. Our trading edge comes in large part from our strong global presence and cross commodities expertise. 

Main Purpose And Responsibilities

We are seeking applications from enthusiastic, intelligent and pro-active graduates to join our dynamic commercial trading environment.  

Our Commercial Graduate Scheme is structured to develop your skills in the foundational areas of trading. You’ll set your own course and advance on a 24-month contract, with at least four rotations across the business to help build a strong understanding of how we operate, as well as developing your network to give you the opportunity to move into key commercial roles in the future. Rotations vary depending on business needs, however graduates will have the opportunity to gain exposure to Trading Operations, Trading Analysis, Strategy, Product Control, Shipping, Logistics and Supply Optimisation. Each rotation will comprise of commercial projects or business as usual tasks.

You will be managed and supported by a dedicated supervisor during each rotation, as well as being assigned a mentor who can provide guidance to you throughout your programme. Your performance will be reviewed at regular stages throughout your 24-month contract, and upon successful completion of the programme, we look to offer longer-term opportunities within the business, allowing you to progress your career in one of the areas from your rotations or, subject to further assessment and business requirement, move into a role within one of our commercial trading departments.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

• Educated to degree or masters level. Discipline not restricted, however degrees such as Business and Accounting, Economics, Physics, Maths, Environmental Science, Engineering, Shipping/Energy, Trade and Finance may be advantageous.
• A strong academic background
• Fluency in English is essential (written and spoken)
• Ambition and determination to succeed in a competitive environment
• Ability to understand and solve complex problems
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Active participation in relevant societies will be viewed positively
• Appreciation of Commodity Trading and Energy Markets will be viewed positively 
• Proactive, inquisitive nature with the ability to work independently
