Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
LinkedIn is seeking a Senior Engineering Risk & Compliance Engineer to join our Engineering Systems and Compliance team. In this role, you will design, implement, and operationalize compliance controls for the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and related emerging AI regulatory requirements, while also supporting other programs such as SOX, MRC and other compliances. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, legal, and finance teams to embed compliance into system design and delivery, automate monitoring, and ensure readiness for audits. This is a hands-on role that blends technical depth with compliance execution, laying the foundation for LinkedIn’s compliance posture at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Control Environment Development
- Develop and maintain robust compliance control environments for engineering systems.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to monitor and interpret regulations, standards, and guidelines relevant to engineering activities.
- Conduct comprehensive technical compliance reviews across application and infrastructure layers to ensure adherence to standards and obligation requirements.
- Build technical recommendations for process enhancements and risk mitigation strategies to meet compliance requirements.
Compliance Monitoring And Remediation:
- Drive continuous monitoring of system control effectiveness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for compliance requirements for robust remediation design and validation
- Lead remediation efforts by identifying root causes, analyzing impacts, and designing long-term solutions for compliance gaps.
Audit Support & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Prepare for and facilitate audits and walkthroughs to support system control evaluations.
- Engage with internal and external compliance and audit stakeholders to stay informed on evolving requirements.
Training & Scaling Compliance Programs
- Contribute towards design and delivering training sessions on compliance requirements and best practices for engineering and systems teams.
- Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes, and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct data analysis and evaluate internal tools to develop automated compliance solutions and reporting dashboards.
- Support compliance program activities including training, control monitoring, documentation, and reporting.
Stakeholder Management
- Foster collaborative relationships with engineering control owners, compliance partners, finance, and legal teams to align compliance programs with strategic objectives.
- Liaise with internal regulatory teams, certification agencies, and industry groups as needed.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in technology compliance services or related field
- 4+ years of experience with technology compliance across domains such as Access Management, Configuration Management, Change Management, Ads revenue, Information Security, etc.
- 2+ years of experience with code reviews and/or system designs and/or data analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS in MIS (Management Information Systems) or MBA
- 7+ years of engineering compliance, systems audit / compliance, IT SOX, in the tech industry or equivalent
- Excellent grasp of risk management and technology compliance
- Proven experience in conducting engineering / system compliance reviews
- Strong knowledge of industry specific regulations, compliance frameworks, and standards including but not limited to: SOX, DMA, DSA, MRC, SSAE 16- SOC 1&2, GDPR
- Experience with engineering / in-house systems, system flow related to internal metrics or quote to cash or trust and safety will be a plus
- Experience with open source compliance and online advertising industries (B2C and B2B)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with high quality
- Detail-oriented, analytical, tech-savvy, and adept to navigate through tools, systems, and platforms
- Project management, teamwork, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate with all levels of management
- Self starter, motivated and proactive with strong organizational and project management skills to multitask, thrive, and succeed in a fast-paced environment
- Certifications in one or more of the following areas: CISSP, CISA or similar

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
