SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AV Solutions Engineer to join our Large Venue Solutions team. This role is pivotal in driving the estimating, design, engineering, and execution of complex audiovisual systems for large-scale venues such as stadiums, arenas, convention centers, and performance halls. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for delivering innovative AV solutions through both direct sale and competitive bid processes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create technical audio-visual system installation drawings including schematic drawings, design building layouts, rack elevations, mounting details, etc. to convey system requirements and concepts to the Production teams.
- Coordinate Design & Engineering tasks with Architects, Engineers, and Drafting.
- Support project delivery through design validation, system commissioning, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Lead project turnover and final drawing review processes.

- Interpret RFP’s, RFQ’s, Specifications and Bid drawing packages to develop comprehensive bid packages, including equipment lists, scope documents, and labor estimates.
- Conduct site surveys and client consultations to gather project requirements and assess environmental factors impacting system design.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Programmers, Project Management, Purchasing, and Fabrication to refine and validate estimates and designs.
- Assist Sales with client visits, technical presentations and in the preparation of proposals.
Competencies:
- Should possess a working knowledge of professional audio-visual equipment connectivity, wiring, electronics, operation, and installation.
- Experience in the programming of networked digital signal processors, audio & video transports, and control systems is an advantage.
- Must have experience reviewing CSI Master Format and CAD Drawing documentation as it relates to the bid response, design, and construction processes.
- Proficiency with computerized design programs (e.g. AutoCAD, StarDraw, D-Tools, etc) is expected.
- Experience in other computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Acoustical Modeling & Simulation, Customer Relationship Management or other project software is an advantage.
- Must possess superior interpersonal skills and be a team player with the ability to manage projects and multiple tasks simultaneously while adjusting to shifting priorities.
- The ability to work closely as a member of a team while at the same time having a high level of personal initiative to work without close supervision.
- The ability to interact directly with Account Executives, Clients, Senior Management and End user/operator personnel as demanded by the project requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The successful candidate will have the ability to stand and or sit for long periods of time. Additionally, some extensive walking may be required for site surveys/walk-throughs.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: Degree in Electronics or similar field preferred. 5+ years servicing, designing, and engineering commercial and professional AV Systems required. AVIXA CTS Required; CTS-D and/or CTS-I preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: New Era Technology office and client sites, domestic and international
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, slightly modified hours may be accommodated.
TRAVEL: It is expected that this position will require a limited amount of travel. It will be required that the AV Solutions Engineer travel to customer and vendor sites. Travel to industry events such as: LDI, NSCA, ESTA, PLASA, INFOCOMM, NAB and other industry related conventions and vendor training seminars may be required.
