Temporary position for 12 months.
As a Section manager, Accident Benefits you will oversee a team of claims advisors who focus on proactive, positive communications with clients to promote and facilitate their recovery from accident-related impairments. Your role involves using your ability to make quality decisions, optimize work processes, contribute to the organization’s strategic plan, and effectively manage a portion of operations activities. With an ability to develop talent and drive results, you can effectively manage people and performance and ensure member/client satisfaction. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Support the immediate supervisor by helping with work organization and operational planning for the team
- Develop, implement, and track your team’s action plan, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic orientations in a performance management context
- Establish management and communication practices that support change management, talent attraction and retention, skills development, employee engagement, and diversity in keeping with Desjardins values
- Define and ensure the implementation of activities related to the team’s services to maximize targeted business results and ensure member and client satisfaction
- Support the administrative team’s action plan by successfully managing individual and team performance
- Consistently model and promote Desjardins behaviours, cooperative values, and a member-client culture
- Focus on indemnity accuracy and continuously improve results and outcomes under your responsibility.

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of seven years of relevant experience, including two years of experience in management
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Chartered Insurance Professional designation (CIP)
Casualty Insurance Experience
- Expert proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
- Advanced knowledge of accident benefits, statutory accident benefits schedule (SABS), and INDEM system
- Available to travel occasionally between offices
