Essential Functions:

This Position Is Responsible For:

Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging Shehadey Family Foods mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.

Payroll Support Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Payroll and Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, including regular pay cycles, bonuses, and adjustments. 
  • Audit timesheets, leave records, and payroll data for compliance with company policies and labor regulations. 
  • Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries related to compensation, deductions, and tax documentation. ·
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information and ensure secure handling of employee data. 
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes by coordinating payroll setup, final pay, and benefits transitions.
  • Partner with HR leadership to implement process improvements and ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards.Leave Management: 
  • Manage the leave process including employee interaction, tracking, compliance, and administration. Work with HRM on complex leave issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees requesting leaves of absence, including medical, parental, military, bereavement, and personal leave.
  • Educate employees and managers on leave policies, eligibility requirements, and documentation procedures in compliance with federal (FMLA), state, and company regulations.
  • Manage the end-to-end leave process: intake, documentation review, approval tracking, status updates, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve leave processes to enhance employee experience and ensure operational efficiency.

Wellness Program Oversight:Partner with the Benefits Administrator as a Wellness Champion for the Wellness program and committee.

Ensure support during wellness/community outreach initiatives, including planning, coordination and presence.

Compliance: Partner with HR Leadership to ensure that the company remains compliant with federal, state and local regulations (including completion of VET-100 filing, EEO-1 Reporting, etc.). Maintain annual postings, assist with AAP preparation.

Event planning assistance: Support the Human Resource department in planning and carrying out company events, including summer picnics, holiday parties, and recognition events, such as barbeques.

General Office Organization: Assist with and take an interest and ownership of HR department aesthetics and filing. Ensure that these areas are kept clean and organized.

Maintain appropriate dress and personal appearance standards.

Other administrative tasks as assigned.

Minimum:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources or a related field or equivalent work exp.
  •  A minimum of 3 years HR generalist/administrator level experience, preferably in a manufacturing/food processing environment with a transportation division.
  • Must be highly customer service oriented and a team player.
  • Demonstrate good judgment, and problem solving and decision-making skills as well as being an organized record keeper.
  • Must be a trustworthy self-starter who can work independently on highly detailed tasks and deliver accurate, timely results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel required. Must be “tech-savvy” and open and able to learn new applications.
  •  Must have a keen eye for aesthetics and take ownership in general office appearance and organization.
  • Demonstrated organization and accuracy skills; self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects/tasks with competing deadlines. Must demonstrate the ability to solve problems, accept constructive feedback and show flexibility should priorities and/or deadlines change.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence. Must be able to build productive relationships across all levels of an organization.

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of Employee Health & Safety Practices.
  • Experience working with HRIS and ATS technology.
