Job Description
The HR Chief of Staff is a strategic partner within the HR Organization, responsible for driving critical HR initiatives, overseeing cross-functional HR projects, and ensuring alignment between the HR leadership team and the business’ overall objectives. This role acts as a liaison between key stakeholders within the HR function, providing insights, project management support, and tactical execution to ensure seamless operations. The HR Chief of Staff will lead strategic planning activities, support mergers and acquisitions (M&A) efforts, and collaborate with Centers of Expertise (COEs) and HR Ops to drive process improvements across HR.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the HR strategic plan, ensuring alignment between HRs goals and the broader business objectives, while supporting HR Staff in defining and implementing the HR vision, strategy, and annual operating plan.
- Collaborate with HR Staff to set priorities, track progress against key initiatives, foster a cohesive approach to HR decision-making, and ensure effective collaboration between HRBPs, COEs, and HR Operations.
- Lead HR Staff meetings inclusive of agenda development, action item follow-up, and driving for decisions when necessary.
- Guide internal HR communications, in partnership with HR Communications, ensuring that messaging is consistent, clear, and aligned with organizational priorities.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of critical HR projects, track key milestones and ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
- Support the Sr. Director, HR Administration and Total Rewards in M&A activities, focusing on organizational integration, talent retention, and culture alignment, while collaborating closely with M&A teams to ensure effective due diligence, organizational design, and integration plans that align with the business strategy.
- Support efforts to streamline HR processes, enhance operational efficiency, and introduce process innovations that improve the employee experience and overall HR service delivery, ensuring that the HR function is well-prepared to respond to the evolving needs of the business.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to HR Staff by providing support on key decision-making and leadership issues.
- Partner with HR Division Leads and Finance to manage the HR budget, ensuring that resources are effectively allocated across strategic priorities, tracking budget performance and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with Talent Management teams to support succession planning and leadership development for key HR roles, ensuring continuity of leadership within the HR function.
- Lead change management efforts across the HR function, driving initiatives that promote culture transformation, employee engagement, and organizational alignment.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- MBA, Master’s degree in HR, or relevant certification (e.g., PHR/SPHR/GPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP, or equivalent) is a plus.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Experience:
- 5+ years supporting a CHRO in a global tech company
- Experience working with HR leaders in strategic planning, operations, and M&A integrations.
- Experience in driving cross-functional projects and initiatives across the organization.
- Experience managing HR budgets and resource planning.
- A strong track record in working with diverse stakeholders, managing competing priorities, and driving results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Skills And Competencies:
- Strong critical thinking and ability to align HR initiatives with organizational strategy, delivering long-term value and leading strategic planning efforts.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex HR initiatives. Experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Expert level data analytics skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization, including senior executives.
- Able to synthesize large amounts of information and input quickly as well as summarize complex conversations/information into succinct actions and decisions. Must be experienced and comfortable giving constructive feedback in order to move others to action quickly.
Additional Information
The compensation range for this role is $127,260 - $203,620. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
