The Role
HelloFresh is looking for an Associate Director to join our International Operations Transformation & Performance (OTP) Team. In this role, you will partner with global and local stakeholders to define our target operating model, drive innovation in inventory processes, and lead improvement initiatives across our 20+ international fulfillment centers, with a focus on Inventory and Warehousing.
Reporting to the Senior Director OTP, you will independently manage a diverse portfolio of local and global projects designed to increase operational efficiency, enhance inventory accuracy, and optimize warehouse management.

What You’Ll Do
- Shape the OTP agenda – Collaborate with global and local leadership to set the international OTP agenda, orchestrate improvement projects, and oversee their successful implementation on site.
- Deliver process excellence – Roll out new tools, processes, and best practices across markets, enabling fulfillment centers to boost output, launch new product variations, and adopt advanced production technologies while maximizing efficiency and minimizing errors.
- Drive improvement initiatives – Initiate, coordinate, and track progress of continuous improvement projects, while also providing hands-on support for urgent troubleshooting and restructuring needs.
- Codify knowledge & best practices – Contribute to the refinement of our fulfillment center target operating model, document learnings, and share expertise on lean production, structured problem-solving, and performance management across the global OTP community.
- Lead & develop a team – Manage and mentor a team of project managers, supporting their professional growth and aligning their contributions with the broader OTP mission.
Key Responsibilities
- KPI-driven improvement – Lead continuous improvement projects across 20+ international production sites.
- Problem-solving – Identify, structure, and prioritize scalable, best-in-class solutions for complex operational challenges.
- Strategic contribution – Prioritize high-impact initiatives, influence product and team roadmaps, and ensure visibility for stakeholders across the value chain.
- Design & execution – Support innovation initiatives in production, including efficiency improvements at automated sites.
- Benchmarking & standardization – Facilitate best-practice exchange and alignment of fulfillment processes across our international network.
- Continuous improvement with Tech – Partner with Tech teams to enhance systems and tools, driving efficiency in capacity and process management, and ensure smooth international rollouts.
- Project implementation – Lead cross-functional projects, focusing on the introduction and adoption of new systems and tools.
- Stakeholder collaboration – Build and grow our community of local key users across multiple markets, fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Quality assurance – Safeguard operational excellence by ensuring both systems (hardware/software) and processes are properly implemented and adhered to.
- People management – Lead, coach, and develop your project management team.
What You’Ll Bring
- An exceptional academic record with a Master’s degree from a top tier college or University (Engineering and Business degrees preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferable as a consultant, Continuous Improvement Engineer or Production Leader with track record in operations improvement project delivery
- Solid method competency in lean methods, problem solving techniques and structuring of complex improvement projects. Six sigma black belt or similar qualification is a plus
- Progressive supply chain and operations leadership roles
- Exceptional project and people management skills
- Superior analytical skills and operational modeling capabilities connected to strategic thinking
- Demonstrated ability to enforce metrics that drive efficiency, measure performance and reduce costs, combined with a good sense of hands on mentality
- Interest to frequently travel abroad
- Fluent business English knowledge, other languages are considered a plus
