Job Description
The Graphics Manager is responsible for managing the activities within the Graphics department, ensuring all established quality and service goals are attained. The Graphics Manager will work closely with the Director of System Specifications and other Vericast leaders to provide optimal support to our clients. They set priorities and give daily direction on the set-up of graphics used by the manufacturing plants and internet ordering channels. They're responsible for supporting the appropriate internal requests for graphics and coordinating the implementation with Client Quality, Legal, IT, Manufacturing, Marketing and other departments as needed. They provide continued updates to other Managers and Project Leads until completion of projects as needed.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
- Manages the workload distribution for the workgroup. Is the contact for graphics issues or system related questions concerning graphics for internal and external clients to include the custom services required by client contract. 30%
- Responsible for managing all aspects of employee relations regarding attendance timesheets, payroll and performance. Administer corporate human resources & internal workgroup policies and procedures. 20%
- Responsible for the coaching, training development and ongoing support of the Graphics department to enable them to support our clients. Participates in project teams and process improvement teams as needed. Work with natural workgroup to ensure communication is clear through all internal and external channels. 20%
- Responsible for the operation of the Corporate Graphics Department. Communicates and gives updates to upper management regarding various projects and team performance. Interacts with internal decision makers for the coordination testing and completion of new graphics maintenance as well as routine requests and problem solving. 15%
- Works with corporate processes to ensure client requests are fulfilled accurately and expediently. These processes include but are not limited to: Client Quality, Legal, Marketing, Internet Content and Manufacturing etc. 15%
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED (Required)
- Degree in Graphics or related field or equivalent work experience (Required)
Experience
- ~5 years graphics experience (Required)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of multiple Harland Clarke Operating Systems and supporting processes (Required).
- Extensive working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite required; expert-level proficiency in tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat.
- Deep understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and branding.
- Familiarity with managing timelines, resources, and cross-functional coordination.
- Understanding of internal workflows involving Legal, Marketing, IT, and Client Quality.
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team of graphic professionals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
- Skilled in identifying issues and implementing client-focused solutions.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Ability to create and deliver training programs for new and existing team members.
- Skilled in identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements.
- Handle last-minute decisions and high workloads without compromising quality.
- Accurately interpret and execute client requests with attention to detail.
- Work effectively with departments like Legal, IT, Marketing, and Manufacturing.
- Align graphics operations with broader business goals and client needs.
- Maintain documentation and processes that support internal and external audits.
Decision Making
Prioritization of workload distribution across work group. Must have the ability to confidently and correctly interpret clients’ requests. Frequently make last-minute decisions while handling a heavy workload to satisfy the customer/client. Errors could result in the loss of clients. Develop & document training program for new graphics positions. Provide project performance reporting to necessary management. Work to resolve any process or procedural issues with appropriate department(s) to determine client focused resolution while balancing quality interests. Determine when to escalate issues to upper management.
Additional Information
Base Salary: $70,000-$80,000
Position is eligible for an annual bonus incentive program.
