Job Description

If you’re energized by agriculture, thrive in unpredictable environments, and prefer boots on the ground over sitting behind a desk—this is your kind of role. As a Rail Inspector with Eurofins Grain Inspection, you’ll be the frontline force ensuring grain quality and safety across the supply chain. You’ll travel throughout eastern Indiana and west-central Ohio to inspect, test, and certify grain shipments that feed the world.

What You’Ll Do
- Travel to offsite locations to inspect and grade grain samples (corn, soybeans, wheat, and more)
- Perform moisture, weight, damage, and mycotoxin testing using visual and computerized methods
- Operate and maintain mobile lab equipment for onsite testing
- Accurately report results and issue inspection certificates to clients
- Communicate with operations and client facilities to ensure smooth service delivery
- Maintain sampling tools and follow safety protocols
- Train and mentor new inspectors as needed
- Adapt to changing schedules, short-notice assignments, and occasional overnight stays
Qualifications
What You Bring
- High school diploma and 1–2 years of related experience (or equivalent)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Willingness to work in outdoor, dusty environments with moderate noise
- Physical ability to lift up to 15 lbs and operate mobile testing equipment
Mandatory Driving Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of verifiable driving experience
- Clean driving record within the last three years
- Motor vehicle report (MVR) required as part of the hiring process
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and maintain up-to-date auto insurance
