The primary function of the National Business Manager is to deliver against the company targets of volume (serving units), whilst keeping within company-approved permanent discounts and joint advertising targets. The role plays a critical part in the execution of one of Red Bull Australia’s retail channel Business Plan strategies and also the delivery against ‘perfect store’ field targets for the responsible accounts. Coles Group is one of our largest individual customers, so critically important to full business performance. This role is accountable for the overall delivery of Coles Supermarket and Local P&L’s.

The role is central to the development and creation of joint customer plans to deliver profitable growth. The NBM will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver first-class communication and execution of Red Bull plans across this key customer within the Retail channel.

Job Description

Achievement Of Agreed Growth Plans

  • Deliver growth targets that are driven by business plans that are aligned and relevant to Red Bull and Coles priorities.
  • Evaluation of activity within the account with learnings applied.

Forecasting, Evaluation And Development

  • Forecast, drive growth and track development of the Coles in order to be able to make well-informed, accurate and timely business decisions.
  • Ensure accurate forecasts of base and promotional volume, aligned with all key internal and external stakeholders, with subsequent evaluation of activities undertaken for future implementation within the Business monthly business cycle.

Customer Contact Strategy

  • Proactively manage customer contact strategy in order to remove obstacles to progress.
  • Timely meetings with key contacts to ensure the development of overall joint business plan.
  • Contacts will include, but not be limited to, functions across Commercial, Logistics, Category, Finance, Marketing and Operations.

Red Bull Contact Strategy

  • Build and maintain internal contact strategy to help meet overall account KPI’s.
  • Contacts will include involvement and collaboration across, Commercial, Category, Logistics, Finance, Brand & Shopper teams, as well as Field Teams.

Category Expertise

  • To become an expert in Category, Consumer and Customer covering both Coles and Red Bull. Positive decisions based on insight both sought and made available.
  • Work closely with internal category contacts and be able to utilise data and insights confidently to drive insight into action.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years sales experience and track record in FMCG within the Australian market
  • Experience in Retail channel is essential, inclusive of Tier 1 Retail customer
  • Advanced negotiation capabilities, with proven record of terms negotiations
  • Strong technical sales skills: analysis, insights, category management, and forecasting, with strong customer relationship skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, strong planning, organisation and project management skills.
  • Excellent financial and analytical acumen, with the ability to draw conclusions from complex data situations.
  • Solid understanding of category management, marketing and finance principles. Advanced-level Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills, including IRI Temple (Coles Synergy preferred)
  • Experience forecasting, setting and reviewing sales targets
  • Experience executing growth plans and managing budgets (financial and trade marketing)
