We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team building the next generation of our database platform. You will play an important role in implementing and running our database infrastructure to build a robust and scalable database-as-a-service platform. You will need strong software development and Kubernetes expertise to develop tools and controllers for effective database management.
What You’Ll Do
- Contribute to an exceptional database-as-a-service platform that enables customers to effortlessly deploy MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis/Valkey clusters, offering streamlined cloud services.
- Write efficient and optimized code to build tools and applications that facilitate database management and orchestration.
- Monitor and optimize databases to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Contribute to the next-gen DBaaS Platform by using Kubernetes to develop controllers and automate tasks such as provisioning, backup, scaling, and monitoring.
Your Qualifications
Must-Have:
- BS/MS in Engineering, or education/experience in a relevant field. Computer Science preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in software development using Go.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with core cloud database services such as Amazon Aurora, Elasticache.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker).
- Experience in infrastructure as code tools, preferably Terraform.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve sophisticated database-related issues.
- Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
Nice-To-Have:
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience for deploying applications or workloads(e.g., creating deployments, services, config maps, secrets).
- Proficiency in MySQL, PostgreSQL, and/or Redis including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Kubernetes, including knowledge about Kubernetes Operators and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs).
- Experience with Kubernetes-native control planes like Crossplane for managing and provisioning cloud resources declaratively.
- Strong understanding of GitOps best practices for managing infrastructure and application deployments (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux).
