About The Role:
We’re hiring engineers focused on AI Engineering Practices to help our teams harness AI to accelerate development velocity, code quality, and developer experience. These roles combine platform-level improvements with hands-on development: partnering with our DevOps team to evolve our developer platform, while also joining tiger teams with product engineers to apply AI-assisted development in refactoring and modernizing our codebase.
As a Staff Engineer in AI Engineering Practices, you’ll lead critical initiatives across squads, contribute directly to our systems, and help define standards and patterns for AI-enabled development. Your impact will extend beyond your immediate squad — raising the technical bar across groups and the broader organization through mentorship, architectural influence, and scalable adoption of AI practices.
You Will:
- Lead cross-squad initiatives to improve developer experience and system reliability through AI-powered practices.
- Partner with DevOps to enhance the developer platform with AI-enabled capabilities in CI/CD, testing, observability, and workflows.
- Participate in tiger teams with product engineers to rebuild, refactor, and modernize critical parts of our codebase using AI-assisted development.
- Demonstrate and scale effective AI-driven coding, testing, and documentation practices through hands-on contributions.
- Identify repeatable AI adoption patterns and translate them into frameworks, standards, and tooling for org-wide use.
- Influence architecture and system design by integrating AI in ways that support scalability, maintainability, and operational excellence.
- Mentor engineers at multiple levels, fostering professional growth and sustained adoption of AI engineering practices.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to align AI adoption strategy with business priorities.
You Have:
- 8-10 years of professional software engineering experience, including technical leadership across squads or groups.
- Strong hands-on coding skills and experience delivering production systems across complex codebases.
- Familiarity with modern AI/ML tools and APIs (LLMs, code assistants, AI testing tools, etc.), and the ability to evaluate and apply them pragmatically.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: backend technologies (Node.js, Kotlin), frontend technologies (React, TypeScript, Next.js), or mobile (React Native).
- Deep experience with CI/CD workflows, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes), and developer platform tooling.
- Proven ability to set and elevate standards for system design, code quality, and operational excellence.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to build alignment across diverse squads and functions.
- A humble, curious, and pragmatic approach to adopting new technologies responsibly and sustainably.
You'Ll Thrive Here If You:
- Drive architectural clarity and developer experience improvements across multiple squads.
- Champion responsible, scalable use of AI to improve quality and velocity.
- Balance bold innovation with practical decision-making for long-term impact.
- Coach and mentor others, helping them grow technically and professionally while raising the org-wide bar.
- Value collaboration, humility, and continuous learning as much as technical excellence.
- Take ownership of systemic challenges and deliver solutions that scale across the organization.
Our Benefits (There Are More But Here Are Some Highlights):
- Competitive salary & equity compensation for full-time roles
- Unlimited PTO, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days
- Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental & vision, and parental leave
- Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)
- 401k benefits with employer matching contribution
