Overview
The Returns Supervisor is a key position in the distribution and operations organization reporting directly to the midshift Warehouse Manager. Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as knowledge of warehouse operations. The Returns Supervisor leads management of returning trucks from the trade. Must verify documentation for all items refused, broken, picked up or returned during daily deliveries. Must ensure proper item locations for all returns to be put away efficiently and correctly. Leads union and non-union employees and enjoys building a team.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000, depending on qualifications such as experience, education, and skillset. Responsibilities
- Planning - Ability to identify and plan for staffing requirements based on knowledge of warehousing and distribution operations. Make decisions based on experience and operations planning . Ensures that procedures and processes match requirements of the operation. Capability to train and implement new technology and processes while maintaining productivity.
- Compliance - Responsible for reconciliation of invoices with product going out and coming back into the facility, must be detail oriented to ensure what customer ordered matches what was sent out or came back.
- Continuous Improvement - Development and implementation of performance-based metrics to drive results through continuous improvement programs.
- Execution - Ability to execute plans and get results through others and identification of gaps and opportunities. Looks for ways to improve day to day workflow.
- Safety - Provide safety instruction to personnel as needed. Report all work-related injuries immediately. Provide immediate medical attention to injured employees as necessary. Ensure compliance with appropriate government regulations.
Qualifications
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or Logistics Management)
- 3-5 years of direct supervisor level experience within a distribution environment
- 3+ years Operations management experience
- Supply Chain supervisory experience
- Functional system understanding in WMS, Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to work non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights and weekends when required
- Strong Communication skills – verbal, presentation, writing
- Preferred: Warehouse automation experience
