About the Role
Our team at SoFi is looking for a Manager of Software Engineering to join our Loans Platform Division Servicing team. You’ll lead a talented group of engineers focused on delivering consumer-facing features and platform capabilities that drive business growth. You’ll collaborate closely with product and business partners, guiding your team through the full product lifecycle—from ideation and development to deployment and support of mission-critical systems.
This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, empowers engineers to make technical decisions, and fosters a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.   About the Team

You’ll be at the heart of our technology efforts—implementing new functionality, resolving bugs, maintaining code health, and collaborating across platform and product teams to deliver best-in-class solutions.What   You’ll Do

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers focused on improving customer acquisition, automation, and funding volumes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver impactful product features.
• Support engineers in their career growth through coaching, feedback, and development planning.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous learning.
• Monitor key product metrics and drive improvements through innovation and iteration.
• Establish and manage delivery timelines, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Address team-related challenges professionally and escalate when appropriate.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years of people management experience
• Strong programming background, ideally with modern distributed systems
• Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres)
• Experience in collaborative coding environments (code reviews, pull requests, design refinement)
• Passion for technology and solving real-world problems
• A focus on delivering impactful features over perfect architecture
