Job Summary
We are seeking an accomplished Senior Salesforce Engineering Manager to lead multiple distributed engineering squads across onshore, nearshore, and offshore teams. This role will own end-to-end engineering execution, architectural stewardship, and delivery of complex Salesforce solutions (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Platform). You will partner closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and customer-facing teams to ensure scalable, upgrade-safe designs, predictable delivery, and customer-centric outcomes. This leader will also play a pivotal role in shaping roadmap priorities, mentoring engineers, and optimizing global delivery models.
Responsibilities
Engineering Execution & Delivery
- Lead multiple Salesforce engineering squads; set goals, SLAs, and drive on-time, high-quality delivery.
- Manage sprint planning, capacity across time zones, and release cadence.
- Oversee technical debt remediation and ensure predictable delivery.
Architecture & Platform Stewardship
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable Salesforce designs (Apex, Flows, LWC, Data Model, Integrations).
- Define architectural guardrails, coding standards, and enforce best practices.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure upgrade-safe, extensible implementations.
Roadmap & Product Partnership
- Collaborate with Product Managers on strategy, roadmap prioritization, and estimates.
- Validate enhancements, explore technical trade-offs, and optimize time-to-market.
Reliability & Upgrades
- Act as upgrade ambassador, ensuring smooth Salesforce seasonal upgrades.
- Proactively address performance, reliability, and scalability issues.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with QA, DevOps, Support, and Services to create documentation, artifacts, and enablement materials.
- Serve as a liaison to partners and customers; integrate feedback into planning.
- Build and optimize global delivery models, handoff playbooks, and collaboration rituals.
People Leadership & Culture
- Hire, mentor, and develop engineers across regions.
- Conduct performance reviews and foster a culture of inclusion, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Champion CI/CD, automated testing, code analysis, and modern SDLC practices.
Innovation & Technology
- Continuously evaluate Salesforce features (Flow vs Apex, Data Cloud, Einstein/AI) and integration patterns.
- Inform platform strategy and adoption of emerging technologies.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 12–15+ years in software engineering, with 8–10+ years on SaaS platforms (primarily Salesforce).
- 5+ years in engineering leadership with proven delivery of multi-cloud or ISV/managed package solutions.
- Strong Salesforce architecture expertise (data modeling, security, integrations, test strategy, release management).
- Proven experience managing offshore/nearshore teams and vendor partnerships.
- Association/Nonprofit domain experience a plus.
- Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect (CTA a plus).
- Salesforce Administrator, Platform Developer II, Integration, or Release Management certifications.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management.
- Strategic thinker with problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong customer-centric mindset and passion for maintainability.
- Proven leadership of distributed teams, with async communication and metrics-driven management.
- Delivery: Roadmap adherence, lead time, deployment frequency, change failure rate.

Salary Range Disclosure
The base range represents the low and high end of the Togetherwork salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Togetherwork's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include discretionary bonuses, long term incentives, a flexible paid vacation/personal time policy, 6 weeks paid parental leave and more.
Salary Range: $220,000 - $235,000
