Research Engineer I (Computer Science/AI/Machine Learning)

The CAP Group from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is seeking 1 motivated Research Engineer in the topic of Digital Twin. The candidate is expected to take the following responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for developing the digital twin system for battery energy storage equipment using Python, and realize real-time simulation of equipment status, lifetime prediction, and optimal control.
• Build 3D visualization models, and develop data interfaces and interaction logic based on business logic and application requirements.
• Design and implement AI algorithms for battery/energy storage systems to improve the prediction accuracy and decision-making capabilities of the digital twin model.
• Participate in the requirement analysis of battery/energy storage/digital energy projects, and collaborate in completing the closed-loop verification of physical equipment and virtual models.
• Write technical documents, maintain code repositories, and conduct technical sharing for team members.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
• Proven backend development experience with a strong ability to build robust and scalable systems.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs, agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain), and/or generative AI.
• Expert-level programming skills in Python and deep familiarity with core ML/LLM libraries (e.g., PyTorch, Hugging Face, OpenAI APIs).
• Practical knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and designing agents that use external tools.
