Requirements:
- Experience: 5-7 years’ Maintenance experience
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent (preferred) technical degree or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
- Available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends & holidays
- Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS System (required)
- Bilingual – English/Spanish (preferred)
- Ability to frequently lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds
Job Description:
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for receiving, reviewing, and prioritizing maintenance work orders based on equipment criticality and production needs. The planner creates detailed work plans that include labor, parts, tools, permits, and safety protocols to ensure all work orders are accurately logged, tracked, and closed out using the CMMS system. They develop, maintain, and update preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for all equipment, ensuring timely execution of PM tasks to minimize equipment failure and downtime. In collaboration with supervisors, maintenance teams, and operations, the planner coordinates PM activities across three shifts, ensuring minimal production disruption.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the purchasing team to track parts, tools, and equipment needed for maintenance tasks, and they must provide regular updates to the maintenance manager regarding the status of planned work and any potential impacts on production.
- Responsible for monitoring and managing the inventory of spare parts and materials to ensure optimal stock levels and availability prior to scheduling work, helping to minimize delays.
- Analyze equipment downtime and parts usage to optimize inventory management and ordering practices.
- Track and analyze maintenance work order data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Implement corrective actions and recommend process changes to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Participating in root cause analysis for equipment failures is also a key component of this role.
- Ensure that all maintenance work complies with company safety policies and relevant regulations.
- Safety protocols, such as lockout/tagout procedures, are integrated into work orders and job plans, and the planner actively participates in safety audits to improve maintenance practices.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Technical Maintenance Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices, including condition monitoring and equipment inspections.
- Familiarity with maintenance software systems, such as CMMS or ERP systems.
Equipment & Inventory Management:
- Knowledge of inventory control methods, including stock levels, ordering processes, and just-in-time parts management.
- Understanding of bottling and packaging equipment in high-speed production environments.
Safety Standards & Regulatory Compliance:
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, LOTO procedures) and their application to maintenance activities.
- Awareness of industry best practices for safety and compliance in equipment maintenance.
- Planning & Organizational Skills:
- Excellent ability to develop detailed and accurate job plans, including scope of work, labor estimates, required materials, and timing.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work orders, projects, and priorities simultaneously across three shifts.
Communication & Coordination:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with supervisors, technicians, and management.
- Ability to clearly document work orders, job instructions, and required procedures for team members.
Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:
- Ability to analyze data from CMMS and maintenance reports to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Effective problem-solving skills to develop solutions for complex equipment or operational challenges.
Time Management:
- Skilled in managing time effectively to ensure work orders are completed on time and within budget.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to changing production schedules.
Detail-Oriented:
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring that all aspects of job plans, materials, and safety procedures are accurately addressed before scheduling work.
Collaborative Mindset:
- Ability to work effectively with multiple departments, including production, purchasing, and maintenance teams, to coordinate work and minimize downtime.
Adaptability & Flexibility:
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in production schedules or emergency repairs, adjusting plans to accommodate shifting priorities.
- Willingness to support a 24/7 production facility by adjusting to the needs of the facility and working across shifts when necessary.
Decision-Making:
- Strong decision-making skills, particularly in prioritizing work orders, managing parts inventory, and adjusting schedules in response to changing production needs.
Safety Focused:
- Ability to incorporate safety practices and procedures into all job planning and scheduling activities.

Job Details:
- Work Hours: Monday thru Friday, Business hours, Overtime as needed.
- Work Attire: Use good judgment, keeping in mind the nature of their work, their own safety and the safety of others, and their need to interact with the public.
- Pay Range: $70,000 - $75,000 yearly
