The mission of the QA Engineering Senior Manager is to lead a team and provide our customers and other stake holders highest quality software. The main objective of this role is End-to-End ownership of one of our Aetna Tech NextGen customer service applications and to be the custodian of product quality. This includes defining the overall quality assurance strategy, including automation strategies, test methodologies, tools, and frameworks, based on project requirements and industry best practices.
This position is a Hybrid position, working out of our Hartford, CT office.
As a QA Engineering Senior Manager your responsibilities include:
- Review requirements, understand the dependencies with cross functional teams
- Lead the team, set realistic and challenging goals, and provide timely and constructive feedback
- Risk management - You must be able to identify potential risks that could compromise the software’s quality or delay delivery, develop strategies to mitigate any risks identified and update leadership early on
- Own the process of creating and defining quality metrics to measure and monitor product performance, from concept to completion
- Implement measurements to determine test effectiveness, testing efficiency to measure the overall quality of the Product and ensure the highest quality application deliveries to production
- Overall QA ownership for regression and end-to-end functions on medium to large initiatives spanning multiple teams and systems and collaborate with leaders/teams across the enterprise
- Identify/Propose and work upon frameworks/tools for automation
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience with software engineering
- 5+ years of experience leading quality assurance engineering teams for large programs
- 5+ years of experience with new QA technology and trends including QA test automation using gherkins, Rest Assure, Java, apache poi, GitHub, devops, Jenkins, BDD Automation, DB Testing, Continuous testing and model-based testing
- 5+ years’ experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with product management tools such as RTC/RQM/Jira/HP ALM/Rally
- Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire team members, delegate tasks effectively, and resolve conflicts
- 1+ years of experience working with AI concepts and the non-deterministic nature of testing. Experience using AI tools and models for testing
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Health care/Insurance domain
- Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills
- Ability to innovate, display original thinking and creativity, meets challenges with resourcefulness, generating suggestions for improving work and presents ideas and information in a manner that convinces team and management
- Proven experience in working with onshore and offshore colleagues\contractors
- Proven experience as a change agent and driving teams towards automation, ability to identify bottlenecks and drives for improvements
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Experience in Salesforce software quality assurance
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$130,295.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
