The Position

Reporting to the Head of Communication, the Brand Digital Experience & Engagement Manager will design and optimize the public-facing digital ecosystems for Roche Pharma Italy and the Fondazione Roche. The primary goal is to drive the engagement of all internal and external stakeholders by creating value-driven experiences backed by continuous data measurement. This strategic role is a key part of the Communications department, responsible for translating analytics into actionable insights and fostering a two-way dialogue across all digital channels, ultimately strengthening Roche's reputation and our employee-centric culture.

Main Tasks Of The Position:

  • Responsible for the strategy, content, and presence across all public-facing digital channels (Roche.it website, the Foundation website, and social media), optimizing visibility through SEO. Oversees all content creation, serves as an active member of the internal editorial committee and external agencies, and manages the LinkedIn profiles of key company leaders for thought leadership activities.
  • Plans and manages all digital advertising campaigns, including SEM and paid social media activities. Proposes and manages collaborations with content creators and works with other managers to translate communication strategies into measurable initiatives, optimizing budgets to maximize ROI.
  • Acts as a digital partner for the entire communications team. In collaboration with the TA (Therapeutic Area) Communication Managers, optimizes the digital strategy for therapeutic areas (e.g., LungLive; SMA Talent School). In collaboration with the Internal Communication Manager, handles content creation for internal tools (e.g., intranet, ESAGONO).
  • Measures and reports on the performance of all digital activities (organic and paid) by managing analytics platforms (e.g., Caliber, Sprinklr, Onclusive, Google Analytics). This role transforms data into strategic insights to continuously improve campaign and content effectiveness and handles community management across all channels.
  • Drives digital innovation by acting as a point of reference and evangelist for the department, promoting a data-driven culture and introducing new tools to increase engagement for both external audiences and employees.

Travel % required: Up to 10%

Qualifications of the position

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience, required.
  • Professional experience/duration: At least 7-10 years of related business experience in digital communications, preferably as an in-house digital lead or senior manager in a corporate environment. Experience within the pharma sector or other highly regulated industry is a significant plus.
  • Specialist knowledge: Exceptional writing, editing, and content creation skills, with a proven ability to craft compelling and clear copy for different digital channels. Strong communication and presentation skills, especially in distilling complex data into engaging insights. Deep, hands-on knowledge of the modern digital marketing landscape, including SEO/SEM, social media management, community management, content strategy, and digital analytics. Experience as a journalist is a plus.
  • Languages: Mandatory fluency in Italian language both written and spoken. Mandatory fluency in English language both written and spoken (C1/C2).
  • Leadership Skills: You are responsible for providing effective thought leadership in the digital space for the entire communications team. You will do so in a manner that is consistent with the Roche Values and leadership capabilities. You will seek to inspire and influence your peers to create transformative digital solutions and to champion their prioritization and uptake across the organization, ensuring that a data-driven, audience-centric approach is at the forefront of all communication activities and delivers an optimal contribution to the Roche Vision.
