Your Adventure Awaits: Field Systems Administrator/Network Engineer
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Field Systems Administrator/Network Engineer to join our prestigious Navy Air (NAVAIR) Solutions Group. As the onsite Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Systems Administrator for the P8 I3B2 Ground Station (PGS) Enclaves, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our advanced systems at Kadena Air Force Base, Okinawa, Japan
Responsibilities:
- System Configuration & Maintenance: Ensure the PGS system operates at peak performance through meticulous configuration and maintenance.
- Troubleshooting Expertise: Perform Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for PGS systems and select air components like TACDS, networks, CSP/SSP, and Minotaur.
- Collaborative Maintenance: Work hand-in-hand with our Navy customers to share operational-level maintenance responsibilities.
- Mission Support: Assist with pre-flight, flight, and post-flight troubleshooting, RSM build/offload, and other mission-critical support tasks.
- Network Connectivity: Coordinate with external entities to ensure robust network connectivity for training, exercises, and operational needs.
- System Upgrades & Patches: Implement software modifications, patches, and upgrades to keep systems current and efficient.
- Hardware Management: Install, maintain, and upgrade network hardware and support equipment, including Dell servers, Cisco routers, and switches.
- Training & Documentation: Provide on-the-job training to Fleet PGS operators and document customer enhancement requests.
- After-Hours Support: Offer after-hours emergency systems support to ensure continuous operations.
- Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Qualifications:Required:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field; or Associate degree with four years of specialized experience; or Major certification with six years of specialized experience; or High school diploma with eight years of specialized experience.
- Certification: Current US Department of Defense 8570 Approved IAT II or higher (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent/higher). Must be obtainable within 90 days of start.
Desired:
- Experience in Navy Distributed SIGINT Operations (DSO).
- Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting classified systems and networks.
- Strong knowledge of Routing Protocols, OSI 7 Layer Model, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or CentOS.
- Expertise in Cisco ASA firewalls.
- Programming skills in Python, Java, and SQL.
- Knowledge of NetApp/ONTAP Solutions.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
